Water Safety Materials

It is essential that everyone in or near the water, practice water safety habits. The National Fire Safety Council, Inc. Water Safety Program includes safety materials for children and adults, novice and experienced boaters and swimmers.

Every year almost 7,000 people drown in the U.S. Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death in children. These statistics reinforce the importance of basic water safety, when swimming at the pool, waterpark, or beach; boating at the lake; using a personal watercraft; or participating in other water sports. Just because people can swim, doesn't mean they are safe near water.
